This workshop discusses modern economies that are heavily influenced by the soviet system. After the fall of the U.S.S.R., soviet bloc countries faced daunting challenges. How did they meet these challenges? How successful have they been? Many European countries looked West and opened to capitalism but as their economies have struggled in recent years, many look with nostalgia on their communist pasts. Meanwhile, Cuba continued relatively isolated. As they begin to grow, who are their partners?
Speakers include FSCJ Economists Dr. Tina Angjellari Dajci and Dr. Susan Reilly
